I'm Back

I made it back home from Phoenix!  I had a great time and so enjoyed being with my BFFs.  This post is how it all went down.

I got to the airport early Thursday morning.  I thought we were going to take off but we just went to the side and waited as Minneapolis airport was too busy.  After about 15 minutes waiting, we took off.  I didn't have much time between my flights so I was a bit worried if I would make it in time.  Luckily, my next flight was just boarding as I got there (way out on the G concourse).  Yeah! I met my BFF there.  She got called to the counter to see if she would sit in the Exit row in place of some kids - and I got to sit there too.  So we had a extra room and a nice ride to Phoenix.  I didn't even stitch as we talked and laughed the whole way.

BFF rented a black Jeep and we were off to our first stop, The Fractured Prune.

It was so fun to see our donuts being made.

My favorite is the chocolate cherry topping.

Then it was time to go to The Attic.  It was hotter than blazes already, like 105 degrees.  A black car in that heat is awful.  Of course it was nice and air conditioned in The Attic.  There was a group sitting and stitching.  They were Facetiming with someone also.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a place to go and stitch and hang out?  It was so fun to look around.  I had a list of things I was looking for.  I wanted the Theresa Baird "Cottage By The Sea".  They were out of it but will send me one when it comes in.  I got some threads for the Summer and Spring charts.  All of a sudden, I was so tired.  Or was it eating that donut?  I was just pooped.  So we paid for our treasures at The Attic and headed to Scottsdale to see if we could check into the resort.  Matilda (my GPS) got us there.  Everybody at the resort is just so nice and helpful.  Of course we can check in.  Yes we can get rooms close to each other.   Nice room.

Our rooms happened to be way far away from the lobby, but hey, I can get lots of steps in.  I needed a nap.  I don't usually take a nap but I was so tired and it is only about 1:30 in the afternoon!  I don't adjust very well to different time zones so the three hour difference didn't help.  After about an hour nap, BFF and I decided to go find a Pizza Hut.  We both like a personal pan pizza.  Matilda got us to Pizza Hut but it was just a pick up place not a sit down and eat place.

So we asked if we could just sit on a bench by the counter as it was too darn hot to eat outside.

I love a personal pan pizza.  Delicious.  I got bread sticks too but I could only eat one.  I ended up throwing the rest away.    When we went back to the resort, we went to the bar to hang out and see if other retreat attendees were there.  We met up with seven other people and enjoyed talking and having some drinks.  They told us where the class would be tomorrow.  BFF#2 got to the resort about 9 p.m.  I was already in bed.  She is my roommate this weekend.  It was a great day.  Here is the stuff I bought at The Attic.
I was really pretty good and didn't buy a ton of stuff.

  1. I really love all of your retreat recaps! You do such a good job of detailing the place you stay, what you see and do, what you eat, any hiccups along the way, the tips and details from the classes and illustrate all with many pictures. It really feels like I have been there with you!
